Media & Attribution
Rural Utah Sports is built to make Utah high school football information easier to research and cite. This page gives reporters, broadcasters and other publishers a clear way to identify RUS data.
Suggested Attribution
For a statistic, ranking, historical record or RUS model result found on the site, a simple attribution is preferred.
“Rural Utah Sports lists the program at…”
“The RUS model projects…”
What Should Be Labeled as RUS Analysis
- RUS Rankings
- RUS ELO ratings and win probabilities
- RUS Lines / projected margins
- RUS simulations and projected playoff pictures
- Any custom historical rankings, comparisons or derived statistics created by RUS
These are Rural Utah Sports calculations or editorial products and should not be described as official UHSAA numbers unless the specific page says they are.
Historical & Reported Data
RUS compiles information from multiple historical and current sources. When a RUS page identifies a specific underlying source, media users are encouraged to preserve that source context. See the Methodology page for more detail.
Using Larger Tables or Datasets
Citing individual facts, records or rankings is encouraged. For substantial republication of a full RUS table, database extract or custom graphic dataset, please identify Rural Utah Sports prominently and preserve any source notes shown with the material.
Corrections
If a newsroom finds a discrepancy, use the Report an Error tool and include the page, the proposed correction and a supporting source when possible. The report can be copied or shared without requiring a site account.
